The Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries and Centre for Abuse and Trauma Studies (CATS) are delighted to host The Journey Within - an exhibition focused on art as a therapeutic approach. The artists explore creative expression combined with psychological support to help individuals explore their emotions, process experiences, and foster personal growth. The exhibition features artists Gabriela Bartosik, Agata di Masternak, and Olaf Brzeski, curated by Professor Andrzej Pitrus from the Jagiellonian University, Krakow.
The process of working through creative methods such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and collage encourages self-discovery, improves emotional wellbeing, and can aid in coping with mental health challenges, trauma, or life transitions. By engaging in art therapy, individuals often experience increased self-awareness, enhanced communication skills, and a greater sense of empowerment.
