Research activities

I'm proud to have led and contributed to several impactful projects funded by the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council. This includes my role as a Principal Investigator on projects like "Real-Time Air Quality Measurement in Mauritius," where we integrated innovative monitoring techniques to create a reliable Air Quality Index, and "Augmented-Reality Computer-Vision Assisted Disaggregated Energy Monitoring and IOT Control,” a Smart Home Platform project. I was also involved in the creation of an "Employee Law Expert System," and led the "DISINFECT - High Intensity Narrow Spectrum (HINS) 405nm Blue Light Decontamination Chamber" project in collaboration with the IEEE during the COVID-19 pandemic. Another significant contribution was towards the "Modelling Oil Dispersion and Impacts on the Mauritian Ecosystem" project, in collaboration with the University of Florida, NOAA, and Ecopath International, focusing on decision support tools following the Wakashio oil spill.
