Research activities

Practice as Research, particularly in the field of Creative Writing and Theatre/ Performance.

My writing practice includes prose fiction as well as projects for stage, screen and radio (Tristan Bates Theatre, BBC Radio 4, Radio 3).


Current Teaching

I teach across Theatre and Creative Writing, at all UG and PG levels. Particular teaching interests include Scriptwriting, Writing for Performance, Dramaturgy and Applied Theatre. Current Module Leadership includes Theatre Industry: Applied Practices (a 2nd Year module on the BA Theatre Programme), Research: Writing, Markets, Audiences (MA Novel Writing). I also supervise students' performance projects.

Post-graduate research supervision: I specialise in supervising Practice as Research PhDs / PhD by Public Works. Current areas of interest include Scriptwriting, Theatre Performance, Dramaturgy and Novel Writing.
