Biography
Dr. Leonardo Pantoja Muñoz is a Science and Technology Technical Tutor specialising in Analytical Chemistry and Instrumentation at Middlesex University. His research focuses on environmental science, particularly in areas such as bioleaching of rare earth elements, soil biocementation, and the analysis of other contaminants. Dr. Pantoja Muñoz has contributed to several peer-reviewed journals, including Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Bioresource Technology, and Pure and Applied Chemistry. His recent work includes studies on bacterial carbonic anhydrase enzymes for soil biocementation and the optimization of bioleaching processes using Penicillium expansum. He is also a co-author of a critical review on the detection of radionuclides in the environment using diffusive gradients in thin films (DGT).
