Research activities

Low energy availability in elite netball cohorts. 

The influence of the COVID lockdown on physical activity in women.

Use of ice baths and tart cherry juice as a recovery method after exercise.

Utilization of carbohydrates in cycling.


Current Teaching

Kat currently leads modules in Advanced Sport Science, Applied Sport and Exercise Nutrition and the physiology components for year 1 and 2 sport science modules. She has previously led Professional Skills (research methods). 

She is also programme coordinator for the sport science foundation year.


Biography

Kat has been lecturing at Middlesex University since 2015, having completed her Masters degree in Sport and Exercise Physiology. Previously, she completed her BSc in Physiological Science at the University of Bristol. She since has completed her Masters degree in Sport and Exercise Nutrition and her PGCHE. 

Kat is currently a PhD student, assessing low energy availability in elite netball.
