Biography

David Levett is a Graduate Academic Assistant in GraphicDesign at Middlesex University, with over ten years of experience in bothacademia and the professional design industry. He holds a BA (Hons) in GraphicDesign from Middlesex University and studied the Post Graduate Certificate inHigher Education, achieving Associate Fellowship of the Higher EducationAcademy (AFHEA). His work is driven by a strong commitment to design educationand a dedication to enabling students to develop their creative and technicalskills.

In his role, David delivers workshops across BA and MAprogrammes, teaching Adobe Creative Cloud computer software at bothintroductory and advanced levels. He also teaches digital illustration, DesignThinking, web design and explores emerging technologies like augmented realityin design.

With a background in professional design, David has workedas a Graphic Designer for clients including the Royal Pharmaceutical Society,Sainsbury’s and The Sunday Times Magazine. His experience in branding, webdesign, and print collateral equips him with practical insights that enrich histeaching, offering students a comprehensive understanding of design inreal-world contexts.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, David has contributedto the university through student support, he has chaired a strand at the MASymposium and coordinated exhibitions. Recognized for his efforts, he wasshortlisted for Professional Services Staff Member of the Year at the MiddlesexUniversity Student-Led Teaching Awards in 2020. David remains passionate aboutequipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in theever-evolving design industry and continues to contribute to the School ofDesign at Middlesex University.
