How to apply as an international student

Applying to Middlesex is a quick and easy process, and we’re here to help you each step of the way. How you apply will depend on your level of study.

Important information for international students

If you have any questions about entry requirements and the suitability of your qualifications, please contact your regional team.

Undergraduate - Year 1

You should have successfully completed one of the following qualifications:

  • A-levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Diploma)
  • Certificate of Graduation from Academic/Vocational Secondary School and a recognised one-year foundation qualification
  • Diploma 1 (D1) Year 12 Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA3) with minimum of 71%

If you don't have one of the above, you can apply to the International Foundation Programme at Middlesex, successful completion of which guarantees admission onto a degree programme.

For entry to International Foundation Program, you must have completed:

  • SMA/K 2: average of 7.0 in 4 academic subjects
  • SMA/K 3: average of 6.5 in 4 academic subjects
  • (STTB and final government exam are not required)

As part of the application process, you will need to provide a letter of reference from an academic source, a personal statement and attend and pass Credibility Interview.

Undergraduate - Year 2 & 3

  • Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Higher Diploma with strong grades qualification from Pearson (EdExcel), ABE, NCC, other internationally recognised qualifications
  • Diploma II (D2), with good grades, can be considered for entry to the second year of an undergraduate degree
  • Diploma III (D3), with good grades, can be considered for entry to the third year of an undergraduate degree

As part of the application process, you will need to provide a letter of reference from an academic source and a personal statement.

Postgraduate

  • A good first bachelors degree from a recognised university
  • Sarjana I (S1) or Diploma IV (D4), with good grades, from a recognised university or institution in Indonesia

Most courses do not require work experience, with the exception of the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) where applicants must have at least three years' work experience at management level. CGPAs of 2.5 and above may also be considered.

As part of the application process, you will need to provide two letters of reference from academic sources and a personal statement.

Please note that you must also meet our standard English language requirements. If you don't meet these, we offer a Pre-sessional English course.

You can also apply for the British Government's Chevening Scholarships, and a variety of private agencies and charities for scholarships, bursaries and grants to study in the UK. For more information visit the British Council website or the UK Council for International Student Affairs website.

The following requirements must be met in order for your visa application to be successful:

UKVI requirements

  • Submit an online application through the UKVI website. You will need to submit your valid CAS, payment of the visa fee and immigration health surcharge
  • Upload the relevant supporting documents (passport, academic documents, evidence of meeting or being exempt from English language requirements, evidence of meeting financial requirements, ATAS certificate if required, TB test certificate if required)
  • Biometric data collected at the visa application centre
  • Successful applicants will receive an Entry Clearance vignette in their passport and will be able to collect their Biometric Residence permit in the UK.
