How to apply as an international student

Applying to Middlesex is a quick and easy process, and we’re here to help you each step of the way. How you apply will depend on your level of study.

Important information for international students

Undergraduate - Year 1 

For entry to an undergraduate degree, students must have completed Year 12 with a minimum of 6.5/10 and completed a one-year foundation studies programme.

Students who have completed Year 12 with a minimum of 6.5/10 may apply to our Bachelor Degree with Integrated Foundation Year (4-year course).

Students may be considered for advanced entry to undergraduate courses if they have completed a period of study at university. Students who have completed Year 1 of University in Vietnam, may be able to enter on to Year 1 entry of an undergraduate degree at Middlesex.

Postgraduate

Students must have completed a University degree in Vietnam (4 years study). MBA: Same requirements at MA/MSC plus minimum 3 years of working experience in a managerial role.

You must also meet our standard English Language Requirements. If you don't meet these or one of our other accepted tests, we offer a Pre-sessional English course.

We understand that knowing how you’ll fund your studies as an international student is something you’ll want to tick off your list as soon as possible. We’ve got plenty of support on budgeting to help you get the most out of your money and your university experience.

Other scholarships

You can also apply for the British Government's Chevening Scholarships, and a variety of private agencies and charities for scholarships, bursaries and grants to study in the UK. For more information visit the British Council website or the UK Council for International Student Affairs website.

The following requirements must be met in order for your visa application to be successful:

Middlesex Requirements

  • Attend our visa preparation webinar hosted by our International Student Advice team
  • Attend and successfully pass a screening interview with your Regional Office
  • Attend and successfully pass a visa preparation interview with the International Student Advice team
  • Submit finance documents to Middlesex
  • Pay your tuition fee deposit

Once you have completed the above items successfully, a CAS will be issued.

UKVI Requirements

  • Submit an online application through the UKVI website. You will need to submit your valid CAS, payment of the visa fee and immigration health surcharge
  • Upload the relevant supporting documents (passport, academic documents, evidence of meeting or being exempt from English language requirements, evidence of meeting financial requirements, ATAS certificate if required, TB test certificate if required)
  • Biometric data collected at the visa application centre

Successful applicants will receive an Entry Clearance vignette in their passport and will be able to collect their Biometric Residence permit in the UK.
