MDX to offer Londoners free educational courses and support to kickstart careers

The course is designed to improve the higher education skills of Londoners and provide opportunities for career progression.

Middlesex University will provide free higher education and support for people in London to help them make the next step towards their chosen career.

Professional careers coaching sessions and enrolment on a higher education module are part of the course run in partnership with Aspire London.

This is part of a wider initiative, supported by the Mayor of London and European Union European Social Fund, to improve the higher education skills of Londoners and provide opportunities for career progression.

As well as living in the capital and being a UK resident, applicants must be either be employed (and earning below the London Living Wage) or economically inactive and not have a higher education qualification.

The course offers:

• Advice for students to help identify their strengths and skills
• Four professional careers coaching sessions to help you refine your focus on job roles
• Enrolment on a higher education module either Review of Learning, or Learning and Studying at Work to develop skills and learn in the workplace
• Students will also gain an MDX Credit Statement and an MDX Certificate of Achievement

This opportunity is designed to boost career prospects and provide a route to higher and degree apprenticeships or other education, training and work in health, social care, digital and creative sectors. Students could progress to degree apprenticeship courses in nursing, social work, digital technology solutions and creative digital design offered by MDX.

The degree apprenticeship schemes offer invaluable on-the-job training as well as help from industry professionals and extensive learning support from a mentor and tutor at the university.

The next enrolment will be October this year and followed by another one in April 2023.
