Several recent KMU graduates have had their research featured in Springer, a leading academic publisher
Middlesex University is celebrating a successful 12-year partnership with an Austrian distance learning provider which has grown to now offer more than 25 programmes.
KMU Akademie & Management AG, an educational institute based in Linz, provide special study programmes to employees in senior management, chief executive officers and owners of Small Medium Enterprise (SME) companies.
They offer a range of courses from practical training at vocational college level to higher education programmes such as BSc, MSc, MBA and DBA.
Since 2011, KMU has been offering courses validated by Middlesex University which are taught in German. There are 3000 students currently enrolled and nearly 1300 students have successfully graduated in the past years.
The fruits of the partnership have seen a number of recent KMU graduates have their work published by Springer Verlag, one of the leading international academic publishers.
Professor Andrea Rögner, the KMU Akademie DBA programme leader, said: “The DBA programme we offer in collaboration with Middlesex University is based on excellent cooperation, and our students produce high-quality applied research, so that we were able to win over Springer Verlag to publish a specific series of edited books, providing our students with the opportunity to present the key findings of their research and their solutions to problems faced by today’s businesses in the areas of management and marketing.”
Professor Fatima Annan-Diab, Academic Dean, Faculty of Business and Law, said: “The Faculty is proud to have such a strong partnership with KMU and a range of now 26 programmes across the undergraduate, postgraduate, and research level.
“We are pleased to see the impact of high-quality education and excellent research in the field of Business Administration reflected in their former students’ publications.”
Most of KMU’s programmes are accredited/certified by AQAS, the German Agency for Quality Assurance. All their programmes are registered by AQ-Austria (Austrian Quality Assurance Agency).
Gurdip Binning, MDX, Director International Recruitment and Academic Partnerships, said: “KMU have managed to grow from a small to one of our largest partners in a matter of ten years. It is a mutually beneficial partnership with ever more opportunities on the horizon to grow even further together.”
KMU has also recently launched an English-language DBA programme which was validated by Middlesex University last year.
